Early in FY23, the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) awarded an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) to the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center (ATARC), now Alethia Labs, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to develop a pilot Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy program for DoD workforce, including Contracting Officers, Technical/Mission Program Managers, System Owners, Computer Science Experts, Computer Engineers, and anyone interested in learning, procuring, designing and deploying AI solutions.
Seventh Sense Consulting, as a trusted partner to Alethia Labs, is providing program management, and training delivery execution support for these AI Literacy training series.
DoD CDAO sponsor’s initial intent was to pilot a few curated AI training cohorts to generate AI technology awareness, inform DoD stakeholders of innovative procurement approaches, share insights on the Tradewind Solutions Marketplace, promote AI technology adoption through experimentation, share knowledge and lessons learned across DoD community and understand the barriers to AI technology adoption and alignment with mission needs.
Within three months, we partnered with DoD CDAO and other DoD stakeholders, top Academia experts, and leading AI Industry partners, to design, plan, curate, schedule, collaborate, manage, facilitate, and successfully deliver three (3) unique AI Literacy training cohorts for DoD employees from the US Army, Navy, and the Air Force.
Each cohort was unique in content, delivered in-person by best-in-class training partners. Each session comprised of forty plus (40+) DoD employees. The training sessions were highly engaging, informative, interactive, and offered attendees twenty-four (24) CLPs, CEUs, or PDUs. We conducted these roadshows in North Carolina, Washington DC, and Ohio to reach broader audience.
The initial pilot training series offered us first-hand opportunity to observe the maturity curve of DoD AI technology adoption and assess varying AI literacy needs across the Department.
This DoD CDAO sponsored AI literacy offering has triggered curiosity and piqued interest amongst the DoD and federal community. We have expanded our AI Literacy offering to include curation of procurement and technical tracks to meet the learning needs of DoD business, acquisition, legal and technical audiences.
If you want to gain additional insights on what we have accomplished in the past few months and where we are headed in our AI Literacy journey, stay tuned. Please await my next blog where I will share additional details and continue demystifying AI Literacy, lessons learned and value propositions.
And lastly, thank you Alethia Labs and DoD CDAO for offering Seventh Sense Consulting this exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of DoD’s AI Literacy journey.
